ELMORE, IN MEMORIAM
A tribute to the Official Cat of the Bargain Bin Review.
In his private life, Elmore was very social and a personable host, often insisting on having his own
seat at the table during dinner parties. He enjoyed the outdoors, mac-n-cheese and strutting
around the house like a vicious jungle cat (despite the fact that he was maybe eight pounds
soaking wet and a bit of a klutz to boot).
Elmore was an avid traveller, having moved across country a few times. In one of the highlights of
his life, he made a cross-country drive, freely roaming around the car. He'd get especially excited
for 18-wheelers -- Elmore liked big trucks.
Elmore was more a friend than a pet, and he is missed.
In November 2009, longtime member of the House of
Nolahn, professional scowler and Official Cat of the
Bargain Bin Review, Elmore, succumbed to complications
related to chylothorax. He was eleven, fairly young for a
house cat.
Though he was only mentioned in passing here at The
'Bin, Elmore played a big part in our overall operations.
He often sat through the films reviewed here with Nolahn,
providing strength during particularly unwatchable films.
And in his duties as unofficial Office Supervisor, Elmore
would give that vaguely annoyed look cats have whenever
he caught Nolahn procrastinating.
Elmore did possess a rather sharp wit and, despite such
obvious hurdles as illiteracy and lack of opposable
thumbs, did manage to make a few contributions to The
'Bin. Those reviews, some of which were completed and
published after his passing, are listed below.
